My Journey
Welcome, I'm Maggie Pettit, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Growing up I have always wanted to be of service to others, naturally, I pursued the helping professions. During my years in law enforcement, I underwent a personal growth journey that landed me in grad school studying Counselling Psychology.
As a Special Constable with over 11 years of experience in policing, I have come to realize the strong need for therapists who truly understand and can support our First Responder populations. Through a commonality of experiences and a shared language, I am able to develop a therapeutic relationship with my clients, providing the understanding and support they need.
My clients often share with me what a relief they feel when they don't have to explain the nuances of their daily work experiences to me. I pride myself on being able to hold space for clients who often have nobody else to talk to on their worst days. I use a humanistic, person-centered approach that focuses on establishing rapport, trust, and building a solid therapeutic relationship. I utilize research-based treatment methods that make sense and help to provide my clients with the relief they need.
